An ancient pine tree suddenly fell, hitting a girl selling flowers on Valentine’s Day on the sidewalk in Dak Lak, seriously injuring the victim.

On the afternoon of February 13, Buon Ma Thuot City authorities were urgently cleaning up the scene, clarifying the cause of the ancient pine tree falling, hitting people, causing injuries.

According to initial information, at around 9:00 a.m. on the same day, an ancient pine tree in the grounds of the Bishop’s House of Ban Me Thuot Diocese suddenly collapsed due to strong winds.

The tree fell and crushed the fence gate and hit a 16-year-old girl who was selling flowers on the sidewalk on Valentine’s Day. The victim was hospitalized in a coma. The hospital diagnosed the victim with traumatic brain injury, broken femur, broken heel bone, multiple broken ribs, and spinal damage.

Before the incident, the authorities mobilized forces to the scene to clean up fallen trees and at the same time check the status of some other pine trees inside the Bishop’s Palace campus to avoid similar situations.

On January 13, an ancient banyan tree in Buon Ma Thuot City also had a broken branch and fell onto the street, hitting a girl who was delivering goods, causing multiple injuries and requiring hospitalization.
