The Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo II belongs to the greatest legends in automotive history. The second evolution of the award-winning sports sedan derived from the W201 generation was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1990. The German car manufacturer intended to make the car as a special edition limited to 502 units, and the entire series even sold out. before the public premiere.
The Evo II was powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, developed in collaboration with Cosworth and equipped with an AMG tuning package, producing maximum power of 173 kW (235 hp) at 7,200 rpm and torque maximum of 245 Nm. at 5,000 rpm.
However, the most visible difference compared to the first evolution was the new body kit, very flashy, aggressive and above all functional. A kit including, for example, an adjustable rear wing or a roof spoiler improved aerodynamics.
The Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo II was only produced until 1991 and today it is a rare and valuable collector’s item that every car enthusiast would like to have at home.
It is therefore not surprising that the German company HWA decided to revive this legend in a more modern form. He only wants to make 100 copies. And the first images recently published indicate what to expect from the car, which has been given the simple name of HWA Evo.
The basis of all the pieces will be a standard Mercedes-Benz W201, which the modifiers will then transform into an Evo. This means that the base cars will undergo a complete restyling, followed by a series of modifications, sporty parts and a distinctive body kit, again more aggressive than the original.
Another change concerns the blackened headlights and the black radiator grille. The lights will use modern LED technology. At the rear, a massive wing and a nice dual exhaust tip will catch your attention.
We have no information on the technology yet, so we have no idea if the cars will also have the 2.5-liter four-cylinder that powered the original. But we would rather bet on a modern engine, even considering the supposedly limited availability of the original unit.

Given the price requested by HWA for its interpretation of the Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evo II, however, we cannot exclude the possibility of an engine similar to the original for the car. The German company offers its Evo for 714,000 euros, or approximately 17.64 million crowns.
