Prakash Mandal (29) of Mirkadim Municipality in Munshiganj Sadar wanted to become a teacher. To fulfill that dream, on Friday (March 29) morning, he attended the primary school assistant teacher recruitment exam at Teachers Training Institute (PTI) center in Munshiganj. But there is a delay on the way. He was supposed to be at the center by 9:30 am, but was denied entry as he showed up at 9:35 am. The gate was not opened despite repeated attempts.
Not only Prakash, many candidates could not appear for the assistant teacher recruitment exam at PTI center on Friday.
Sajjad Hossain (27), who arrived at 9:40 from Deobogh in the city, came from Charkewar Union at 9:45. Several students, including Rafiqul Islam, Sumon (30) from Lauhjong, were seen clamoring at the gate. Some broke down in tears not being able to pass the exam. A few parents are also seen pleading with the examinees.
Candidate Prakash Mondal said, I reached only five minutes late due to the traffic on the road. Could give me the opportunity. I tried many times at the gate, but no one responded.
Rani Ghosh (30), who arrived 10 minutes late at 9:40 a.m., said, “This is my last year of employment.” So I came for a last try. Five minutes late on the way. That’s why I could not enter the hall.
Some other candidates said that they were a little late due to various reasons. But if I knew it would happen, I would have attended earlier.
District Administration Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Education Branch and ICT Branch) Muntasir Mahfuz, who is in charge of the center, said that the instructions of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education were to take the seats of the candidates at 8:30 am and close the access at 9:30 am. According to the instructions, the gate was closed at 9:30.
He also said that teaching is a responsible place. Those who will conduct the educational program should realize the importance of time. Getting to the center on time was also a test. So no one was allowed to enter after the scheduled time to avoid chaos.
According to the relevant sources, this time there were 6 thousand 57 candidates for the post of primary school assistant teacher in Munshiganj district. The written examination was held on Friday from 10 am to 11 am in 9 centers of the district.
