Spanish giants Real Madrid and German club Borussia Dortmund are fighting in the Champions League final at the historic Wembley Stadium. Real is the favorite in this match, but in the first half, it was Dortmund who dominated.
Real was ahead in possession of the ball. But Dortmund attacked too much. If Kapal was good, they could have scored. Dortmund had 8 shots in the first half compared to Real’s 2 shots, one of which hit the post.
Borussia got the first big chance in the match. In the 20th minute, Karim Ademi found the Real goalkeeper alone after catching Matt Hummels’ through ball. When Courtois came forward, he wasted time in cutting him. In between, Carvajal came forward and freed Real from the risk.
In the 23rd minute, Real survived the last of two successive attacks by Borussia. From Sancho’s pass, Fulcrug eluded Courtois and flicked his left foot into the box. But bad luck for Borussia. The ball rolls and hits the inside post on the right.
In the 35th minute, Vinicius injured his leg while taking the ball from the Borussia goalkeeper. Referee shows yellow card.
In the 41st minute, Marcel Sabitzer’s powerful shot from outside the box was saved by Courtois diving to the right. Both teams went into the break with a scoreless draw in the first half.
