Already at the end of the month, 25-26. The first “Empowering Excellence” Academy of Fintech Managers will take place in January. The two-day in-person seminar is intended for industry leaders who want a deeper insight into the most important industry topics, which will determine the development of the industry in Latvia now and in the future. Inside the Academy, more than 10 local and international experts will share their knowledge and experiences.
The Academy is organized by the Latvian Fintech Association in cooperation with the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance, which actively promotes the implementation of good corporate governance principles in the Baltic countries, including the organization of training programs for senior managers, entrepreneurs, advisors and board members for 15 years. During the two-day intensive sessions, with the participation of speakers – industry experts, topics such as the country’s strategic vision in the development of the financial technology field, the importance of regulation, operational compliance and the creation of a control system internal, we will discuss the creation of an effective management structure, risk management, etc.

Equally important, the Academy is also a platform to build professional relationships and contacts with more than 10 local and international experts and representatives from other companies. As Andris Grafs, vice president and head of the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance in Latvia, says: “The field of financial technologies is developing very rapidly, therefore, in order to ensure good management of Fintech companies, promote their development in accordance with regulation and industry development trends, in addition to showing practical steps to overcome challenges, we are training have attracted faculty who are experts in their field and are also able to offer practical, experience-based recommendations and solutions. Thoughtful, high-quality content and the opportunity to establish contacts with other companies and experts are prerequisites for these lessons to be valuable for managers and founders of Fintech companies.”
As Marine Krasovska, head of the financial technology supervision department of the Bank of Latvia, points out: “Last year, several important steps were taken to make Latvia an attractive place for financial technology companies. The sector and regulation are becoming developing dynamically, therefore we constantly advise and educate existing and future market participants.This training program for managers of fintech companies is a valuable initiative where both current and potential fintech market participants will learn about new developments in regulation of the fintech sector, in IT risk and cyber risk management, in the creation of internal control systems of financial companies, etc. monitoring issues.
