In the next two months, the digital bank of Piraeus will be launched, announced Theodoros Tzouros, Chief of Corporate & Investment Banking of the banking institution, during the Delphi Forum.
Mr. Tzouros said that the digital bank, which is a collaboration between Piraeus Bank and Natech of Ioannina, a technology company that creates banking software for many countries abroad, will be called “snappy” and will be aimed at an audience, mainly young people, which is not served by the bank’s traditional channels.
He said that today 98% of transactions can be done digitally, while a 30% increase in ebanking participation was recorded.
The offices and management of the new digital bank of Piraeus-Natech are in Athens, however the headquarters are in Ioannina, where Natech started and is still growing.
Snappy’s file has already been transferred to Frankfurt and within 100 days of receiving the license from the ECB, the digital bank will be ready to start operating in the Greek and European markets.
