The Firefly Workshops

The La Luciérnaga Workshops were born last April, as an initiative that seeks to activate training spaces, complementary to the academy and more accessible to a wider audience. Many artists, managers or entrepreneurs in the cultural area require a certain guidance and direction to launch their projects or works.

Responding to this need, professionals Natalia Arcos, Catalina Mena and Elisa Cárdenas combined their knowledge and experience and designed a workshop that covers three dimensions: Curatorship, Writing and Communication. From these approaches, they developed a cultural management course that has already had two stimulating stages in Santiago and Puerto Varas.

Between August 10 and the first week of September, a new cycle will begin in which the three dimensions will function in a more integrated manner. With four online theoretical sessions, and four other face-to-face practical classes, the La Luciérnaga Workshops seek to expand knowledge, understanding and the realization of ideas in the cultural area.

The workshop facilitators are visual arts professionals with extensive experience: the curator and researcher Natalia Arcos, the cultural journalist Elisa Cárdenas and the essayist Catalina Mena.
