The farm celebrity, Anne-Kat Hærland | Lack of participants in “Farmen kendis” – this is what TV 2 has to do now

The struggle for existence began in earnest at the Li farm and this week of “Farmen Kjendis” proved to be very challenging for many participants. It ended with two participants having to withdraw from the farm adventure.

If one participant also fails in the duel on Sunday, the farm is theoretically missing three participants, which led to logistical problems for TV 2 already in the second week of “Farmen kjendis”.

In front of Nettavisen, the channel explains how they solve the problem.

They drop like flies

After much dissatisfaction, Anne-Kat chose. Hærland (51) will withdraw from the program.

She left the farm angry after accusing the production of exploiting her visual impairment for the benefit of entertainment television and not intervening when she needed help.

Another participant followed shortly after. Former snowboarder Daniel Franck (49) quickly got tired of the struggle for existence and decided to throw in the towel.

– I’ve been thinking about it for a couple of days. I’m very happy, I know it now. And that’s really all. I’m just very grateful and feel like I’ve experienced more than I expected. And now we’re at the point where I think it’s perfectly okay to go home, she says in Wednesday’s episode.

Nettavisen tried to contact Daniel Franck. He has not yet responded to Nettavisen’s questions.

Even though there were suddenly two fewer participants in the “Farmen kjendis”, a duel is still expected in Sunday’s episode as Cristian Brennhovd (25) was once again chosen as the first champion.

This means that a total of three participants will leave the farm in less than a week. But TV 2 has a solution in store.

This continues

The farm adventure began just under two weeks ago with a diverse group of twelve famous people, but in that short time this year’s season has dropped two participants.

TV 2 press manager Jan-Petter Dahl explains to Nettavisen that the production takes into account the fact that sooner or later some participants will withdraw from the broadcast. But this will not affect the duels, he assures.

– It was taken into account that problems might arise and that participants might want to withdraw. Duels take place regardless of the number of participants.

And according to the press manager it will not have major repercussions on the season before the start of finals week:

– This will not have consequences until the finals week, when fewer participants will return home during the first races.

At the same time that Hærland and Franck withdrew from the program this week, this year’s “Farm Celebrity” challengers entered the farm. Something that also helps the participant’s balance.

– I can’t pay attention

Participant Bahare Viken (30) tells Nettavisen that she realized relatively early in the season that it would not be taken into account if the participants wanted to return home and that this would not necessarily bring any benefit.

– Usually it is done so that it doesn’t matter how many there are, and it has never happened before that someone has returned at the expense of someone who has withdrawn, Viken tells Nettavisen and adds:

– If you take it into account in one week, it will follow all subsequent weeks, and since it is a long recording period, I understand that the production cannot take it into account every time.

Although Viken supports the production’s decision not to take further considerations, such as involving more participants, he was excited about how they would solve the problem with a duel.

He has a clear theory as to why duels continue normally:

– I thought Egil might return, or that the duel was abandoned. But at the same time you miss out on a lot of excitement and good TV.

However, it is not the first time that a TV 2 production has experienced a lack of participants. On last year’s season of “Shall We Dance,” two contestants left the program on the same night.

At the beginning of the season, Fritz Aanes (45) had to withdraw due to injury and Trude Vasstrand (58) missed the dance duel. This meant that there were too few dancing couples competing and it would take four weeks for TV 2 to find a solution to the problem.

However, the solution to the imbalance with the participants in “Shall we dance” was resolved by guaranteeing all the remaining dance couples a place in one of the Saturday broadcasts.

In previous seasons, where contestants had to withdraw from the competition, the remaining contestants automatically advanced to the next round with points earned from the broadcast.
