OR birth of a new criminal faction in Ceará is being investigated by the Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (SSPDS). The alleged organization, already in the crosshairs of the security forces’ intelligence, originates from Rio de Janeiro and would seek to establish groups in the territory of Ceará.
“As regards this criminal group, it is analyzed both by the intelligence of the Civil Police, the Military Police, and by the Secretariat itself. [da Segurança]if this really happens”, underlined the secretary.
The information was given during a press conference by the head of the SSPDS, Samuel Elânioin the afternoon of this Monday (8), at the Integrated Center of Public Security (Cisp), where information was transmitted on the attempted massacre which ended with two deaths and 15 shots fired in Barra do Ceará, in Fortaleza, on Sunday (7 ).
The secretary also said that the alleged new faction is not connected to this incident of violence. The victims were attending a birthday party when they were surprised by members of another criminal group.
The faction would have been in Ceará about six months ago
The report found from a source linked to one of the SSPDS security forces that the he has been here in Ceará for about six months.
“There are members of this group in the neighborhoods of Fortaleza and also in the municipalities of the Metropolitan Region. Furthermore, for some time members of the faction have been welcoming criminals from Ceará into the communities of Rio de Janeiro,” the source revealed.
