JAKARTA – The Prophet’s Mosque in Medina brings together a marvel of modern engineering and traditional Islamic architecture with the presence of its dynamic dome. This project was built during the reign of King Fahd.

The project features 27 extraordinary domes, a combination of stunning design and technological innovation that captivates visitors. Reporting from the Saudi Gazette, Friday (22/3/2024), each dome, weighing 80 tons, is supported by a square base measuring 18 meters wide.

The domes can be opened and closed at predetermined times with the help of an extensive network of iron rails, exceeding 1,573 meters in length.
