Manager Ducati Corse , Gigi Dall’Igna has a dilemma in choosing a racer to accompany Francesco Bagnaia in the factory Ducati team next season. So far there are two names that are rumored to be close, namely Marc Marquez (Gresini Ducati) and Jorge Martin (Ducati Pramac).
One seat is still available in the factory Ducati team for MotoGP 2025. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo) looks set to get a new teammate following the uncertainty of Enea Bastianini’s contract.
Bastianini has so far not renewed his new contract, so one racer slot is still open for the factory Ducati team. In this regard, the names Marquez and Martin are at the forefront to fill the empty slots.
The appearance of the two racers from Spain managed to steal attention in the last few races. Martin was able to win two races, while Marquez achieved three podiums in a row.
Dall’Igna admitted that he was still confused about who would accompany Bagnaia next season. He said Ducati Lenovo would make this decision slowly.
“We will take decisions with the necessary calm and respect. To make decisions, an agreement needs to be reached and this is not always obvious,” said Dall’Igna as quoted by Motosan, Monday (3/6/2024).
“Ultimately, it is an important and complex contract that takes time,” he added.
However, Dall’Igna gave a strong signal to Marquez and Martin. The two racers received praise after competing in the 2024 Italian MotoGP, Sunday (2/6/2024).
“Marquez is a champion who knows how to rebuild, while Martin is a champion who develops,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dall’Igna has not ruled out the possibility of Bastianini. The Italian racer must now continue to improve his performance to steal the hearts of Ducati Lenovo.
