The case
The crime occurred in a bar in Vicente Pires in the early hours of Wednesday. The institute’s internal security circuit cameras recorded what happened, from the attack on the woman to the shot fired at the deputy.
The perpetrator of the crime, police officer Rodrigo Rodrigues Dias, appears sitting at a table accompanied by a woman and a man. At a certain point, the officer pulls the girl’s hair and she reacts with slaps. After a few minutes, it appears that Rodrigo is arguing with someone inside the bar, but the images do not capture the entire scene.
Seconds later, Deputy Karen Langkammer approaches the officer and the two begin to argue. The factory employee and other people try to break up the fight. Rodrigo walks away a little, takes out a gun and points it everywhere, including the deputy. At another point, he slaps the policeman in the face. Then, he fires two shots. One of them hit Karen on her foot.
Rodrigo will answer for the crimes of shooting on public roads, criminal acts and personal injury. The police officer underwent a custody hearing and the Court granted bail to the accused.
