The death of Mehdi Belkhayat saddens the artistic community

Moroccan producer and artist manager Mehdi Belkhayat passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Belkhayat passed away in a private clinic in Casablanca, after suffering recently from the disease that had eaten away at his body at the height of his professional career.

The Moroccan artistic community was overwhelmed with sadness after the news of the death of one of its most prominent names spread, as condolences and words of condolence poured in from his friends and fellow artists who expressed their grief over his passing.

The body of the deceased will be transferred to his hometown of Fez to be buried, this Saturday afternoon, in the Belkhayat Cemetery, Bab Al-Ftouh.

Mehdi Belkhayat is known for organizing a number of artistic events, and is also known for supporting young talents and managing the businesses of a group of artists. He was honored last June by the Moroccan Artists Club for his contributions to supporting the cultural sector in Morocco.
