It was noted that the necessary examination and treatment of newborns, pregnant women and expectant mothers who were hospitalized in other medical institutions under the authority of TABIB as a result of the fire are intensively continued in accordance with clinical protocols: under the supervision of the leading specialists of the institutions. A total of 8 newborns hospitalized in other medical institutions from the Republican Perinatal Center were discharged home in good health today.”
“Out of the 50 children currently being treated, the condition of 38 is stable, the condition of 6 is moderate, and the condition of the other 6 is satisfactory. Children are treated at the New Clinic, Clinical Medical Center (KTM), No. 2 named after A. Garayev under the KTM Children’s Hospital, Perinatal Center at Sumgayit Medical Center, Republican Clinical Hospital, Sabunchu Medical Center and Khatai Medical Center are being continued. 2 of the children (twins) were transferred to the KY Farajova Research Pediatric Institute at the request of their parents,” the information said.
It should be noted that with the coordination of the relevant structural units of TABIB, the treating doctors and specialists of the Republican Perinatal Center also work together with the doctors of the medical institutions where the evacuees are treated.
It should be noted that on January 9, there was a fire at the Republican Perinatal Center located on Yusif Safarov Street, Khatai District, Baku. During the preliminary investigations, it was determined that 3 people were hospitalized in the Toxicology Department of the Clinical Medical Center due to smoke poisoning. The bodies of 4 children who were treated in the Center’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit were found.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Investigative Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office under Articles 225.3 (when the violation of fire safety regulations causes the death of two or more people due to carelessness) and 314.3 (when the negligence causes the death of two or more people) of the Criminal Code.
At present, investigative and operational measures are being continued.
