A wrestling coach from the Republic of Dagestan beat his young student because he lost in the All-Russian competition held in the Orenburg region.
Publika.az reports that a video about this has been circulated on social networks. Afterwards, the Minister of Physical Education and Sports of the Republic of Dagestan, Sajid Sajidov, confirmed that the incident took place.
“He (ed – refers to the coach) is Alaudin Atayev from the village of Karabudakhkend, Karabudakhkend district, but I cannot call him a coach either. Moreover, it turned out that he was not such a person. He does not work in state sports institutions and does not have the relevant education to engage in coaching activities. But he “jumps” from one gym to another.
He is an individual entrepreneur who decided to try himself as a coach, and his students are mostly the children of his relatives and friends. I also learned that he had previously committed similar acts of violence against children during training and competition.
Like everyone else, I was shocked by what I saw. No one has the right to react like this to the defeat of an athlete. Adults who allow themselves to do this have a problem in their minds. It is necessary to check his psychological condition. I also want to inform you that the law enforcement agencies are already involved in this incident. I can assure you that this person will never work with children in any gym again,” Sajidov wrote on the social network.
Executive Director of Dagestan Wrestling Federation Mahmud Magomedov also reacted to the scandalous incident related to Alaudin Atayev. He said that the coach will be punished.
“We are aware of this situation and are currently investigating it. This happened at the tournament held in Oryol. This person is not a coach, he has no relevant education. Going to the competition as a parent, we will beat our son and take all measures to remove him from all sporting events. And this punishment should be a serious lesson for everyone. The decision will be made when we meet with this person,” Magomedov said.
