Erudition game “Know! Mini! Uzzini” is known and loved by many Valmieri and residents of the region. At the end of 2023, the Valmiera County Foundation, in collaboration with “VIJA CREATIVE”, organized the first charity erudition game.
Patricija Siliņa, head of the Valmiera County Foundation: “You know! Mini! Discover!” it had been in our field of vision for some time. We knew both on various social media and simply personally that such a game was taking place: by attracting people in such an attractive way, seeing that people are having fun, we thought we could contact the organizers of this game to diversify the various activities of the County of Valmiera Foundation.”
Gustavs Māziņš, creative director of “VIJA CREATIVE”: “This idea comes from the Valmiera County Foundation. The Valmiera County Foundation organizes various charitable actions and events throughout the year. From here the idea of the possibilities of our collaboration: create a charity game with the aim of supporting excellent students in the Valmiera district.”
21 teams represented the party room of the V Valmiera middle school in the charity match. Māziņš: “Valmiera 5 middle school is a place where you play “You know! Mini! Discover!” was first born on May 11, 2018 and I am happy to see that the school hall is full, which means that when people like this game, people also want to support such charities. The collaboration with the Valmiera County Foundation has already developed very well in the first game. I hope that next year we can continue to collaborate and make this event even better. We hope that even more teams will gather for this event.”
In order to support those young people who, with their dedication, hard work and talent, have already achieved goals or have just started the journey to cultivate their talents, the Valmiera County Foundation wants to provide greater support to achieve their goals and growth. Siliņa: “Until now we have mainly supported the sports sector, but we would like to support or diversify this support too. Music, art… are areas that we would also like to support, but our main idea is to support events that are already of a higher level high, when young people participate in such international competitions and carry the name of both Valmiera and Latvia to the world.”
This is an interesting way in which each of us can support young people and other charitable causes. Māziņš: “I think it’s very nice when people join hands, figuratively speaking, to support a noble cause.”
Although this is the first charity game, it should be added that the erudition games “Know! Mini! Discover!” have been held since 2018 as a voluntary initiative of the organizers for almost five years. At the invitation of the game participants, the games have also been held for a fee since last year.
During the game, more than 700 euros were raised to support the young talents of Valmiera.
The project is co-financed by the Media Support Fund with funds from the Latvian state budget.
