There are elections where, even after all the ballot papers have been counted, it is still uncertain who won. This was also the case with the social elections for the Chamber of Agriculture. The Bauerezentral candidate and incumbent President Guy Feyder actually received the most preferential votes: around 1,800. But the group that received the most new votes was the Active Farmers for Eng Strong Agriculture group and their number one, Christian Hahn. He collected around 1,300 preferential votes.
Overall, the election resulted in six seats for the Bauerzentral, the active farmers for a strong agriculture five and together stronger four seats. The latter consists of the Farmer Alliance and Free Luxembourg Farmers. With the result, however, it was not obvious to appoint a new president.

Christian Hahn replaces incumbent President Guy Feyder
There was no internal agreement last week as to who should succeed Guy Feyer at the head of the Chamber of Agriculture. Several media reports said that Christian Hahn and Guy Feyder had positioned themselves for the position and that a compromise should be found before the chamber’s inaugural meeting. This would avoid a runoff election so as not to further divide the sector.

On Wednesday it should be loud Radio 100,7 The Zesum méi Stark list presented a letter at a meeting according to which they would support the candidacy of Christian Hahn in order to seek a renewal in the Chamber of Agriculture.
The new president has now been chosen: In a press release on Friday, the Chamber of Agriculture announced that Christian Hahn would take over Guy Feyder’s position for the next five years. Paul Funck from the winemakers is to become vice president. This means that Bauerezentral has lost the presidency of the Chamber of Agriculture, which it has always held until now.
