As member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Meldeshov informed, paragraph 2 of Article 59 of the Election Law provides for the submission by the candidate and his wife (husband) to the state revenue authorities at the place of residence of a declaration of income and property on the first day of the month of the beginning of the nomination period, that is, on April 1 2019.
– Then, a certificate from the state revenue authority about the submission of income and property declarations by the candidate and his (her) spouse is submitted to the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan at any time before the expiration of the registration period for presidential candidates, that is, before May 11, 2019. If the certificate is not submitted, the candidate will not be registered. After registering a candidate, the Central Election Commission sends to the authorized body a request about the accuracy of information about the income and property declared by the candidate and his (her) spouse, which is verified by the state revenue authorities within fifteen days from the date of registration of the candidate, explained Bakhyt Meldeshov.
According to him, organizations that have received requests from state revenue authorities to provide information about the income and property of a candidate and his (her) spouse are required to provide the requested information within four days from the date of receipt of the request.
