The Indian Ocean Champion Clubs Cup (CCCOI) handball, initially scheduled for November 15 to 22, 2025 in Toamasina, has been officially postponed. The event will now be held from February 6 to 15, 2026, at the same location, after the suspension decided due to the political and security tensions which have shaken Madagascar in recent weeks. This edition will bring together the best clubs from six territories in the area: Madagascar (host country), Reunion, Mayotte, Mauritius, Comoros and Seychelles. For men, the champion of Madagascar Littoral SC Atsinanana (Toamasina club) and the vice-champion HBC CUT Atsimo Andrefana will wear the national colors. On the women’s side, the defending champion My Sah Itasy and the vice-champion THBC Analamanga will also defend the Malagasy chances at home. The Malagasy Federation also hopes to involve the third in each category, HC EST Atsimo Andrefana for men and TMI Ihorombe for women, which would bring the number of Malagasy clubs per table to three. The event remains highly anticipated in the region and promises great confrontations in Toamasina at the start of 2026.
