The funeral prayers of Acting Chief Justice of Bangladesh Supreme Court M Inayetur Rahim and Member of Parliament of Dinajpur-3 (Sadar) Constituency and Whip of Jatiya Sangsad Iqbalur Rahim’s precious mother Najma Rahim have been completed. She is the wife of late public leader M Abdur Rahim.
The first funeral was held on Wednesday (March 27) at Bailey Road in the capital. After the funeral, the body was taken to Dinajpur by road.
On Thursday (March 28) at 11:00 a.m. at Shaheed Maidan in Dinajpur Gor, the second namaz was performed and at 2:00 p.m. at Panchkur High School ground in Jalalpur village of Dinajpur Sadar.
Earlier on Wednesday at 3 pm, he died while undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital.
M Inayetur Rahim led the second funeral at Shaheed Maidan in Dinajpur Gora. Before the funeral prayers, Member of Parliament and National Assembly Whip Iqbalur Rahim gave a brief speech seeking forgiveness for his mother’s death and asking for prayers from everyone.
Nazma Rahim, who passed away at the age of 86, was honored with the ‘Dream Achieving Mother’ award by the Government of Bangladesh on Mother’s Day on 13 May 2018.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Obaidul Quader, Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury and other political and social organizations have mourned his death.
