The Political Bureau of the Progress and Socialism Party recorded “the difficult atmosphere that characterized Eid al-Adha this year, for broad segments of Moroccan families, especially the vulnerable ones.” This is due to the unprecedented high prices of sacrificial animals, in light of the lack of actual impact of the generous support provided by the government to sheep importers.”
The Progress and Socialism Party stressed that “the government lacked the necessary awareness of the magnitude and repercussions of the enormous difference between its reassuring statements that claimed to provide sheep in sufficient numbers, and the reality in which a large number of citizens found themselves helpless in the face of the scarcity of sacrifices and their prices reaching astronomical numbers.”
The Political Bureau of the Progress and Socialism Party added, in a statement, that “this poor government management on the occasion of Eid al-Adha has exacerbated the atmosphere of social tension characterized by the deterioration of the purchasing power of Moroccan families, in contrast to the continued excessive government satisfaction that was recorded before, during, and after the presentation of the interim results.”
In this context, the Party of Progress and Socialism drew attention to “the escalating social tension at the level of the health sector, which is experiencing successive strikes,” and the party calls on the government to “implement the agreement it concluded with the social parties representing the professionals of this vital sector, to ensure the continuity of public health services.” Taking care to improve it.”
The Political Bureau recorded “the continuation of dangerous tension at the level of the faculties of medicine and pharmacy, where things are moving, as a result of negative and tense government measures, towards imposing the organization of flawed exams without the participation of all male and female students, which threatens a dangerous and unprecedented blockage for which the government bears full political responsibility.”
The Political Bureau addressed “the current conditions in rural areas, in light of the continuing drought and its dire repercussions on rural residents, on agriculture, and especially on small and medium-sized farmers, which imposes on the government the necessity of effective and rapid action to avoid emptying the rural world of its population.”
In addition to all these worrying situations, the Progress and Socialism Party alerted the government to “the rigor of the summer period, given that the cycle of social difficulties will be completed by the upcoming school entry with its requirements, costs, and effects on the purchasing power of Moroccan families, which makes it necessary for the government to act based on a deep awareness of this reality and pay attention to Its requirements, by taking all political and social initiatives and measures to address it, or at least, limit its dire repercussions.”
In a related context, the Political Bureau of the Progress and Socialism Party expressed its “strong dissatisfaction and deep astonishment at the rejected statements recently made by the Prime Minister in the House of Representatives, which indicate that he does not care about what the nation’s male and female representatives say.”
The statement pointed out that “this statement seriously contradicts the Constitution, which grants parliament basic roles in monitoring and holding government work accountable, in legislating and evaluating public policies. It is also a statement that reflects a great disdain for political action and the status, roles and rights of the institutional opposition.”
Regarding the situation in Palestine, the Political Bureau renews its “strong condemnation of the continuation of the brutal Zionist aggression against Gaza, where killing, starvation and displacement have reached limits beyond description, in light of Western complicity led by America, in open support for the crimes of genocide committed by the Zionist entity with its extremist government.” Which seeks, recklessly, to expand the scope of the aggression to include southern Lebanon, thus placing regional and global peace in the face of great dangers and real threats.”
In contrast, the Progress and Socialism Party recorded “the growth of international solidarity campaigns with the Palestinian cause and the series of official recognitions of the State of Palestine,” noting that “it is a trend that must be confirmed by all means, in order to impose a halt to the brutal aggression and provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people.”
In this context, the party positively notes “the strong political and humanitarian initiatives officially taken by Morocco, the latest of which is the initiative of King Mohammed VI to provide medical and pharmaceutical aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza,” and also notes “the growing solidarity of the popular classes in Morocco and its living forces with the Palestinian people in various forms that express the deep-rootedness of the Palestinian cause in the conscience of Moroccan society.”
On this basis, the statement explained that “these initiatives confirm that Morocco is surrounded and is exercising its duty of solidarity with the just Palestinian cause, which requires continuing all possible types of pressure in order for Israel to respect international legitimacy and stop its aggression against the brotherly Palestinian people.”
In its evaluation of the fourth session of the party’s Central Committee, the Political Bureau noted “the success witnessed by this session at all levels,” and appreciated “the atmosphere of struggle mobilization that accompanied it, and the great positive interaction of all female and male activists with the contents of the Political Bureau’s report and the final statement, which were unanimously approved.” “After a deep, thorough and responsible discussion.”
By the way, the Political Bureau renewed its call to all party structures, organizations and sectors to “raise the level of mobilization and ensure closeness struggle and openness to the energies of society, with the aim of moving forward in expanding the ranks of the party and improving, renewing and diversifying its tools and methods of work.”
