The Secretary of Public Security of Mexico, Omar García Harfuch, revealed that a strong confrontation with members of a criminal organization, allegedly the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), left a balance of 12 dead and three injured.
He also explained that in the operation, which occurred during the weekend in the state of Michoacán, the Secretariats of Marina and Defense, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and the local security forces participated.
«[Se] They arrested 9 members of a criminal cell who are related to the crimes of homicide, extortion and illegal deprivation of liberty, ”said García Harfuch when giving details of a confrontation that represented a hard blow to the CJNG, one of the most powerful organizations in Mexico.
After repelling the attack, 12 aggressors lost their lives, while three members of the Navy were injured, the official said.
