The beginning of the end of “Halo Infinite”?

(PressFire.no): Developer 343 Interactive has announced that the current season of “Halo Infinite,” the fifth in a row, will be the last.

Season five will run until the end of the month.

Instead, the company will release so-called “operations,” smaller variants of seasons that last four to six weeks at a time and which have their own “battle passes” — on a smaller scale than seasons.

Three “operations” of this type have been announced, which will follow one after the other starting from January 30th.

During a live broadcast, the developers were able to say that they will continue to update the game in the future, but that parts of the teams that worked on “Infinite” are now focused on the future and working on new things.

– We have a dedicated team working to support “Halo Infinite” and to continue making it in the future, but we also have other teams that are preparing for the future and working on completely new projects, says community manager Brian Jarrard of 343.

“Halo Infinite” came out on the eve of 2021 and never had the immediate success that publisher Microsoft had anticipated. These changes could be the beginning of the end of the game, or at least a sign that the developers are slowing down in favor of a new game.
