In January-May of this year, the average monthly nominal salary of wage workers in the economy of Azerbaijan increased by 9.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 1,003.3 manats.
Publika.az Referring to the State Statistics Committee, it is reported that the average monthly nominal salary was higher in the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, information and communication, professional, scientific and technical activities, as well as transport and warehousing sectors of the economy.
As of June 1 of this year, the number of salaried workers in the country’s economy was 1,749,400, of which 893,100 worked in the state sector of the economy, and 856,300 worked in the non-state sector. 18.9% of wage earners are in education, 18.6% in trade; vehicle repair, 12.8% industry, 8.4% public health and social services, 6.8% construction, 6.4% public administration and defense; social security, 4.3% transport and warehousing, 3.8% professional, scientific and technical activities, 3.3% agriculture, forestry and fishing, 2.2% finance and insurance activity, and 14.5% were engaged in other areas of the economy.
