59 fake examinees detained at Sarfatullah Fazil Madrasa Center in Sapahar Upazila of Naogaon have been released on bond. They were released to the custody of their guardians on Tuesday (February 20) afternoon.
According to related sources, 777 students from 40 educational institutions took part in the entrance examination from February 15. At 10 am on Tuesday, 757 candidates appeared in that center and were taking the exam in 20 rooms. During the second paper of Arabic examination, the room inspector of the center, while signing the book at around 11 am, realized that fake examinees were participating instead of real students.
Sarfatullah Fazil madrasa principal and center secretary Md. told Mosaddek Hossain. When he informed the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) that information, he immediately raided the center and verified everything necessary including students’ admit cards, registration cards, photos. Later, 59 fake candidates from eight madrasas were arrested.

The detained students said that madrasa supers have brought them to give proxies out of greed. Later, the arrested fake examinees were released on bail to their parents. Besides, UNO ordered to take legal action against those eight madrassas.
Sapahar Upazila Sarfatullah Fazil madrasa principal and center secretary Md. Mosaddek Hossain said that since there are less students in the new MPO institutions, they are involved in this irregularity to maintain their reputation by conducting examinations through proxy students. Strict action should be taken against those madrassas.
Sapahar Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Masud Hossain said that the room inspectors expelled 15 boys and 44 girls as they were proved to be fake. Superintendents of the eight institutions involved in these activities have been summoned. Legal action will be taken against them.
