The 2023-24 school year ends next Tuesday

Next Tuesday, July 16 of this year, the 2023-2024 school year concludes for more than 375 thousand children and adolescents who are enrolled in basic education in the Lagunera region of Coahuila and Durango.

In the Coahuila school calendar, Friday, July 12 is marked as administrative discharge and on the 15th, evaluation reports will be delivered to parents or guardians. In said entity, from the 17th to the 19th of said month, there will be an Intensive Workshop for Continuing Education for Online Teachers. On the side of Durango, There will be no administrative discharge but there will be delivery of grades and Intensive Workshop for teachers on the same date as Coahuila.

It remains to be seen whether Coahuila and Durango will make adjustments to the 2024-2025 school calendar. While this is being defined, the federal Ministry of Public Education (SEP) recently indicated that, in the calendar of 190 effective school days, applicable to basic education schools in the 32 states of the country, the beginning of the school year will be on Monday, August 26, 2024 and will end on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.

Previously, from August 19 to 23, 2024, the Intensive Phase of the School Technical Council (CTE) will be held; on Thursday, August 22 and Friday, August 23, the Participatory School Health Committee Session and School Cleaning Days will be held.

Recently, the head of the federal SEP, Leticia Ramírez Amaya, reported that for the new school year, 160 million Free Textbooks (LTG) will be distributed to basic education students throughout the country.

It should be remembered that it is the National Commission for Free Textbooks (Conaliteg) that is responsible for the production and distribution of free textbooks, educational and support material in each school year for students of the National Education System.
