We’re entering 2024 and there’s a lot to be excited about. We have extremely intense months of gaming ahead of us, filled with potentially great RPG previews. Here’s a list of gems worth the wait.

2023 was full of great RPGs and everything indicates that this great shape of the gaming industry will be maintained well into the new year. There are many interesting previews ahead of us, not only in the AAA category, but also in the AA and indie areas. The following list presents the most interesting projects that are worth waiting for.

More text below the video

Flintlock: Siege of Dawn

Very little is said about Flintlock, perhaps because it’s not the best marketing campaign. It’s a shame, because the title has the potential to become the biggest RPG surprise of 2024. We have beautiful graphics, a vast open world to explore, an interesting style and a dynamic and impressive combat system in which alternating ax blows. with volleys of old firearms. The first will take place in the third quarter of 2024.

Crimson Desert

The latest work from the authors of Black Desert has already suffered several delays, and recently it was rumored that it might not even be released in 2024 (we await the official announcement from the publisher). However, it is worth keeping the project on the radar of players, because this is a full-fledged single-player adventure that should compete in scope with The Witcher 3. The gameplay revealed so far makes a fantastic impression, so it seems that the South Korean team will delight lovers of role-playing games. Let it happen as early as 2024.

Persona 3 Reload

Persona 4 is rightly praised, but Atlus’ slightly older work is also worth paying attention to. There will be a perfect opportunity for this in February, because Persona 3 Reload, a remaster of one of the best turn-based jRPGs in history, will appear on the market. It seems that the developers have taken the topic seriously, because the graphics have been significantly improved. Previews February 2.

Chronicle of Eiyuden: One Hundred Heroes

Expectations for the quality of Eiyuden Chronicle are high. The title is created by the director of jRPGs considered by many to be the best works in this category in history. The game will offer the same attractions as Suikoden, including: recruitment of over 100 heroes, strategic turn-based battles, many mini-games and, of course, a narrative focused on fantasy warfare.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

As for this project, I doubt the quality will be adequate. The new Bloodlines 2 was created with great pain. The outages have led to a change in the development team and a reduction in the scope of the project, so it’s hard to say what will come of it. However, the vampire theme is so interesting and the first chapter of the series is so strong that you can count on an unusual, very dark and mature title for adults.

Like a dragon: infinite wealth

The RPG craze will begin in January, with the promising Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. The Ryu Ga Gotoku team has already proven itself to be excellent at using the turn-based combat system, so you can expect more JRPG goodness here, inspired by, among others, the iconic Dragon Quest brand. This time the series will take us from Japan to Hawaii, which in itself seems to be a fantastic update of the somewhat stereotyped setting that the Sega brand has accustomed us to. Previews January 25th!

The dogma of the dragon 2

In March we will be playing the continuation of one of Capcom’s most underrated games. Dragon’s Dogma 2 will develop the plots known from the great production of action role-playing games, mainly enriching the narrative layer of this fantasy story. It will be a great success. Previews March 2024.

Declared

After a long wait, we are approaching the presentation on the market of the latest work from the talented Obsidian team. Avowed will be released in 2024 (we’re just waiting for the exact release date) and will have the chance to delight fans of role-playing games in the style of Bethesda’s exploits in the Elder Scrolls series. We will therefore have an FPP camera, a large fantasy world and real-time combat. The authors of Fallout: New Vegas should not disappoint, especially since they are in great shape lately, after the phenomenal Pentiment. The title will debut on Xbox Game Pass.

Clockwork revolution

The team at inXile Entertainment, responsible for the fantastic Wasteland 3, has been preparing a completely new action RPG for us for a long time (more or less since December 2020). This time in an unusual atmosphere for this studio, since it is associated with the BioShock or Fallout 3/4 brands. Clockwork Revolution will include FPP shooting. We may see how a talented team will tackle such a topic in 2024 (unfortunately, no release date has been announced yet). The title will be included in the Xbox Game Pass offer on release day.

Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth

While there were reservations about the plot (with questionable changes to the original) and narrative pacing of FFVII Remake, there was nothing negative to say about the combat system or perfectly designed boss fights in this production. The graphics were beautiful too. Therefore, we expect similar impressions in the second episode of this story, namely in FFVII: Rebirth. The game will be available on PS5 in February 2024. And after this preview, there will be another final installment of this “remake series” waiting for us.
