Being mentally unbalanced, Jaguna Bibi sometimes disappeared without saying anything to anyone. The last time the incident was a little different, though the family members found him again and brought him back home. Although he was found in his district earlier, the last time he went missing, he forgot to leave the country and wanted to cross the border to India. All the family did not find him and thought that he might not be found again. And thus passed more than a long era. However, he has finally returned home for good on Facebook. Relatives and local residents are happy to have him back.
According to the family, Jaguna Bibi is seventy now. His house is in Dengar Bepari Kandi area of Jajira Union of Jajira Upazila of Shariatpur. Her husband’s name is Lal Mia Bepari. He went missing in 2011. A person named Azizul Sheikh commented on a Facebook ID named Masud Rana of Jazira Upazila last Ramadan. Whose home is in Kolkata, India.
In the comments, he said that an old woman named Jaguna of Jazeera Bangladesh has been with him for eight years. After that, Masud Rana posted on Jazeera’s Facebook group with Jaguna Bibi’s picture to find the family. And from there Jaguna Bibi’s family was found. After that the family members contacted Azizul Sheikh in Kolkata and brought Jaguna Bibi back home through Benapole port on 30th April. After a long time, the family members were overwhelmed with emotions after meeting him.
Jaguna Bibi’s son Zainal Bepari said, “After my mother disappeared, I looked for her in many places, but could not find her.” I thought I would never find it again. Later I found the mother through Masud Bhai. We contacted that brother in Kolkata and sent all kinds of documents including mother’s identity card. He arranged to send the mother back to the country. I am very happy to have mom.
Masud Rana, a young man who posted on Facebook about Jaguna Bibi, said that a person named Azizul Sheikh made a comment after posting on his personal ID. Later talked about WhatsApp number. He said that an old woman named Jaguna Bibi from Jazira area is with him. Jaguna Bibi’s family contacted me when I spoke to her and posted the information on Pran’s Jazeera Facebook group. Later I told them about Azizul Sheikh of Calcutta.
Jaguna Bibi’s shelterer Azizul Sheikh of Kolkata told Mobile that he found Jaguna Bibi in a sick state at least eight years ago. Since then he started staying with the family. Four months ago, he suddenly started talking about his children and his previous residence. Later, Jazeera’s Masood Rana was found by searching on Facebook. From there Jaguna contacted Bibi’s family and applied to the Bangladesh High Commission with the necessary documents and after getting permission, they were sent to her family through Benapole.
When asked about Jaguna Bibi coming to Bangladesh from India without a passport, Benapole Immigration Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Azharul Islam said that if someone’s passport is lost or someone enters another country without a passport for some reason but is not involved in any criminal activity, the people can be brought back or taken back to their own country through outpass or travelpass in coordination with the concerned people of the governments of the two countries.
Jazira Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sadia Islam Luna said that Jaguna Bibi was found back by her family after being missing for a long time. This is really good news. Upazila administration will inquire about it.
