Thanh Nien Theater premieres the play “12 Midwives”

Ho Chi Minh City Newspaper Theater (4 Pham Ngoc Thach, District 1) performed its first show and created a ticket fever with the play ’12 Midwives’ (author Nguyen Khac Phuc, director Hung Lam – Dinh Toan).

This is a 22-year-old script that has brought high revenue to the previous IDECAF stage cast (Thanh Loc, Huu Chau, Dinh Toan, Le Khanh, Tuan Khai…). This time, the new version is still directed by Hung Lam, with artists: Dai Nghia, Dinh Toan, Hong Anh, Bach Long, Thanh Thuy, Hoa Hiep, Hoang Trinh, My Duyen, Kim Duyen, Minh Dung, Tra Ngoc…

The play tells the story of 12 women who were concubines and were given the responsibility by the Jade Emperor to mold the bodies of newborn babies to “deliver” to the mortal world. One day, from the words of Nam Tao and Bac Dau, the 12 midwives created the character Cu San, who was gentle but always in pain whenever he thought about complicated matters.

The play attracts audiences because it has profound educational meaning and at the same time creates lively laughter.
