The Malagasy racquet, Miotisoa Rasendra Andriananteina, shone brightly at the Ghana Tennis Foundation Championship (TFG ITF) which ended this weekend.
The resident of the ITF Center in Casablanca won three gold medals throughout the competition. In singles, she achieved a nice double. Additionally, she completed her doubles match on Saturday by winning the trophy with her Ghanaian teammate, Tomegah. “Winning the first three titles: two in singles, one in doubles, after a year of absence due to injury is an extraordinary experience for me. With only a month and three weeks of training before the tournament, this victory seems almost unreal,” noted the champion. Miotisoa should have participated in the African Games in Accra, but the Malagasy delegation was reduced and his name was not included in the final list. The TFG ITF is therefore his very first competition since recovering from an injury.
Meet in Abidjan
Now she is preparing for the ITF J60 championship in Abidjan, where she will face international players this week. “With man it is impossible, but with God everything is possible. I am deeply grateful to be able to serve a God who has a greater purpose for me, despite the trials. These victories are proof to myself that I still have the determination and talent necessary to compete internationally. I am eager to redouble my efforts to pursue my dream of participating in the Grand Slams and winning one, or even several, one day. This goal will require total commitment and hard work, as well as considerable financial support. I would like to express my deep gratitude to my parents, family and my sponsor, Mvola, for their invaluable support in achieving my sporting aspirations,” she added. Miotisoa’s father shared that mentally, she struggled to accept the return to competition. She had to reconnect with the circuit. However, as parents, they must always support her.
