After “Star Academy”, another cult from the dawn of reality TV makes its big return to the small screen, this Thursday 18 January 2024. “Temptation Island” returns, with five couples eager to test the strength of their love, and 20 temptresses, determined to do everything to test each other’s loyalty.
At the helm of this new edition, spectators will be able to find Delphine Wespiser, the former Miss France who officiates among other things in “Touche pas à mon poste”.

A perfect show for Delphine Wespiser
Interviewed by Yahoo!Life, the presenter does not hide her enthusiasm at the idea of hosting the great return of this show. For good reason: giving advice on romantic relationships has always been one of her great passions. “I love love. Love is at the center of my life and always has been. When I was little, I gave love advice to my friends, in kindergarten, elementary school, university… Even when I didn’t I did it and yet I have a lover, because for a long time I protected myself from it. I was more the one giving advice,” she says.
Delphine Wespiser further specifies: “I like the couple, I like the idea of a team, the idea of being a single entity. But I also have this elf side, I like to vibrate. I like it when it’s alive, so the temptation side it’s very exciting. This ying and this yang represents me very well, and that’s why I wanted to host this show and follow these couples.”
His only regret? Having had to limit herself to her role as facilitator, which prohibited her from taking sides: “I was really empathetic, I wish I could have been even more so, but I had to stay in my role as facilitator. There are many times when I would have liked to give advice to girls, tell them to open their eyes, or scold boys… But you have to stay in your place, and I was a spectator of the human beauty that is these relationships.”

A show that accelerates relational dynamics
What the former Miss France particularly likes in the concept of “Temptation Island” is its “particle accelerator” side: “At the end of twelve days you have the answers, while there are people who spend their lives asking questions. may have the effect of electric shock. If we leave each other alone it’s because it was better that way. If you break up as a couple it means that the couple is even stronger. And if you leave with a new person it’s because it was destiny. “
He also states: “We won’t throw stones when there is deception, because when there is deception it means that there is something not working in the relationship, or at the level of one of the two. This means that the couple was not viable.”
Beyond the “temptation” aspect, the presenter states: not all couples who do not remain faithful will leave each other alone: ”We also have the concept of forgiveness. Because the objective, this “It’s not just about seeing if it’s wrong , it’s also knowing whether the other person will take revenge or want to forgive.” To avoid excesses (and controversies, as happened for “Frenchie Shore”, ed.), the candidates will be accompanied by “nannies”: “It’s very important, because They break down on camera and off camera. They need to be comforted. We’re making a show, but they’re playing with their lives, because a separation can really hurt.”
For good reason: “12 days, for candidates, is a very long time. In just two days things happen. From the moment you no longer have access to your phone, you are cut off from the world and your references, you are free with their own sensations. And the candidates completely forget the presence of the cameras. The drive for life is stronger than the cameras.”
A show and an awareness
For Delphine Wespiser, “Temptation Island” is a good way to take stock of your relationship, but also to take stock of yourself, for viewers as well as candidates. “We saw this especially during the bonfires, with the candidates telling us: ‘Now I know what I want and what I don’t want.’ They are moving away from the ‘we’ and refocusing on the ‘I.’” There were individual accomplishments. I also learned a lot of things about myself and what could have happened in my love life”, she explains, specifying: “I started a relationship at 13, 14 years old, and I have almost always had a relationship, almost until Last year.
