Telugu films on OTT to cross Rs 100 crore mark in 2024

In the first quarter of 2024, ‘Hanuman’ and ‘Tillu Square’ were box office hits, grossing Rs 239 crore and Rs 86 crore respectively. However, ‘Guntur Karam’ was average. Guntur Karam’ is a 2024 Indian Telugu action drama directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by S. Radha Krishna under Haarika & Hassine Creations. The film stars Mahesh Babu, Srileela, Meenakshi Chowdary, Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishna, Jayaram, Jagapathi Babu, Sunil and Rao Ramesh. On January 12, 2024, ‘Guntur Karam’ released in cinemas worldwide, coinciding with the Sankranti festival. Unfortunately, the film faced criticism from critics for Trivikram’s direction, screenplay, story, and Thaman’s background score and soundtrack. However, Babu’s performance was appreciated amidst unfavorable reviews. Sadly, the film failed to perform well at the box office, marking it as a commercial disappointment. ‘Tillu Square’ is a 2024 Indian Telugu romantic crime comedy directed by Mallik Ram and produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. It is a sequel to the 2022 film ‘DJ Tillu’, starring Sidhu Jonnalgadda reprising his role and Anupama Parameswaran in the lead role. ‘Tillu Square’ is one of the biggest Telugu films without a tier-1 box office star. The film grossed Rs 135 crore worldwide. It is second only to ‘Hanuman’ (Rs 244 crore gross), which premiered earlier this year.
