A report from the Ministry of Health points out the success of Teledengue, which was an innovative strategy to efficiently address the number of confirmed and suspected dengue cases. The telephone service has made more than 92 thousand calls and followed up on 25 thousand patients between January and March 2024.
Salud affirms that the number of calls made has shown that Teledengue is an effective tool in the management of the disease, reducing hospital saturation and allowing more efficient management of health resources.
Likewise, it highlights that the service has allowed 11,233 controls to be successfully completed, and 177 patients have been referred for specialized interventions, ensuring adequate and timely medical care. This initiative has benefited patients by providing personalized care and has contributed to the timely management of possible complications associated with dengue.
The health portfolio emphasizes the importance of contacted patients going to the nearest medical establishment if they present warning signs. Although Teledengue has been a complement, it does not replace in-person medical consultation, which remains essential for adequate diagnosis and treatment.
