A boy in Teteringen set off fireworks

A teenager also suffered serious injuries to his hand in Teteringen, in the municipality of Breda. A fifteen year old boy found a cobra and lit it. The heavy fireworks exploded immediately, causing the boy to lose part of his hand. Another boy was slightly injured.

Police warn of fireworks found that did not explode. “Throw old fireworks in a bucket of water for a few hours and then with the residual waste,” is the advice.

More victims were killed in fireworks-related accidents around the turn of the year. For example, a 19-year-old man died in Haarlem on New Year’s Eve. A 36-year-old man died on Saturday in Neeritter, Limburg.
