The 15 -year -old teenager suspects the presidential candidate Miguel Uribe in Colombia declared himself innocent of the crime of attempted homicide, a source of the Prosecutor’s Office informed the AFP.
Also charged with carrying and manufacturing weapons, the young man was captured on Saturday after allegedly wounding the right -wing senator during a meeting with dozens of people in a park in Bogotá.
The leader of the Democratic Center Party, opposed to the government of the leftist Gustavo Petro, is in intensive care and his condition is stable but critical, according to the most recent medical part.
In front of the clinic, his wife, María Claudia Tarazona, told journalists that the senator “continues to fight for his life.”
The reasons and intellectual authors of the attack are still unknown.
The alleged gunman tried to flee, but Uribe escorts shot him in one leg and stopped him. He had to go through the operating room.
A judge “imposed the adolescent measure of preventive detention” in a “specialized center” for minors, according to the investigating entity.
A source of the entity said he was taken from the hospital to a bunker of the Prosecutor’s Office in Bogotá, while a place of destination is decided in which “no danger.”
An AFP photographer observed the transfer in the middle of a strong security scheme with dozens of police, trucks and a helicopter.
If it is found guilty, it can pass up to eight years deprived of liberty, although not in a common prison because it is a minor, said the attorney general, Luz Adriana Camargo.
Petro announced on the social network X that he requested help for research to “secret organizations” of the United States.
Defense Minister Pedro Sánchez said that the adolescent received money in exchange for shooting Uribe, but did not specify the amount.

Petro pointed against the “mafia with international seat” as possible responsible for the attack.
There are “very strong indications that have reached very high leaders of the opposition” and the ruling, said the president.
He asked to strengthen the security of senior leaders on the right, as former president Álvaro Uribe (2002-2010), leader of the Democratic Center.
The influential governor denounced on Monday that “international intelligence” informed him of an alleged plan to attempt against him. The Democratic Center states that eight million dollars are being offered to kill its leaders.
If the mafia is behind the crime, it is possibly due to the fact that the government has “struck very hard” to drug trafficking, Petro said.
When he was captured, the young man shouted who received orders from a person from the “pot”, as he is known in Colombia to the places of drug vessel.
The president also denounced that, on the day of the attack, Miguel Uribe’s custody was reduced “strangely” from seven to three escorts.
The Military and Police Criminal Prosecutor announced that he opened an investigation before the presence of some active uniformed in the security scheme.
