Technology: UPSC Prelims: AI app scores 170 out of 200 marks

Technology : Padhai, an artificial intelligence-based app, scored over 170 out of 200 marks in the UPSC Prelims Exam-2024, solving the entire paper within seven minutes and qualifying above the normal score, which is usually less than 100. This score has put Padhai in the top 10 nationally, if not rank 1, the official release said. The app, developed by a team of IITians, took the test in a public setting on Sunday at The Lalit Hotel in Delhi right after the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) preliminary exam in the presence of guests from the education sector, UPSC community and media professionals. It took less than seven minutes to solve the entire paper, the release said. The event was telecast live

YouTube conducted on OpenAI, where questions and answers are publicly available. Using answer keys released by top coaching institutes, Microsoft The AI’s answers were also compared with commercially available comprehensive AI models from big tech companies like Microsoft and Google. “This is the highest score achieved in the last 10 years of UPSC exams. We believe our event is the first of its kind, but for the past few years, it has been a long time coming,” he said.

Padhai is an AI x education app for UPSC preparation available on Google Play Store. It claims to offer several AI features including news summary, smart PYQ search, doubt clarification, interactive answer explanation, book summary.
