Computer systems in some restaurants of the multinational fast-food chain McDonald’s reportedly went down, preventing people from ordering food.
On Friday morning, customers in Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Japan took to social media to complain about problems trying to buy food from the fast food company.
Some customers said restaurants were only taking cash and that orders were being written by hand on paper.
Others said they used the McDonald’s app to order food but were unable to actually order the food.
McDonald’s says it is aware of the issue and is working to fix it. The food chain said the problems were not related to a cyber attack.
The food company apologized to customers on social media in Japan and said it would have to wait “some time” for the issues to be resolved. The company attributed the problems to a ‘system error’.
