Retired great teachers never succumbed to old age. On the one hand, they have provided health services to people, on the other hand, they have researched ways to prevent diseases. These artisans of making people are working for the welfare of people forever. Even after institutional retirement, they are engaged in the service of people in the country’s needs. So teaching doctors don’t really have any leisure.
On Saturday (February 17), the speakers said these things at the reception ceremony of 74 different levels of talented teachers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor of the University felicitated all these retired teachers who had served the people of the country for a lifetime by giving greetings and flowers on behalf of the University. The speakers said that the teachers of all levels working in the university have spent more time than the family in serving the people and studying the students. They also thought about the development of the university during the time they spent at home. All these teachers have treated the students like their own children.
The retired teachers demanded that they should be invited to every function of the university. These talented teachers said that they are always ready to work for the needs of the people of the country.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Sharfuddin Ahmed said, “After taking charge as the Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, I have tried to do something new every day. I have worked to give due status to all the posts in the university. We have created an environment where every teacher gets the respect he deserves. Involved in academic and research work to utilize the talent of retired teachers. I have given instructions to the Heads of Departments that they can attend classes one or two days a week. Such retired meritorious teachers have shown great success in academic and research work. During the current administration, none of the teachers of this university actually have any retirement. Tried to keep them involved in various activities after retirement.
In the event, the Vice-Chancellor of the University (Research and Development) Prof. Moniruzzaman Khan, Dean of Faculty of Surgery Prof. Mohammad Hossain, Dean of Faculty of Dental Prof. Mohammad Ali Asgar Moral, Dean of Faculty of Basic Science and Para Clinic Prof. Ahmed Abu Saleh, Dean of Faculty of Nursing Prof. Debbrat Bonik, Dean of Faculty of Technology Prof. Devtosh Pal, Faculty of Preventive and Social Medicine. Dean Prof. Atiqul Haque, Dean of Children’s Faculty Professor Manik Kumar Talukder, Registrar Professor Mohammad Hafizur Rahman, Proctor Professor Md. Habibur Rahman Dulal along with various levels of university teachers and retired teachers were present.
