The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has decided to increase the price of sugar by 30 taka by 100 taka per kg. Earlier, the company gave sugar at the rate of Tk 70 per kg to the family card holders. And last Ramadan, the price of sugar per kg was 10 taka less, 60 taka per kg.
In a press release on Wednesday (March 6), TCB announced the sale of products at subsidized prices from Thursday (March 7). Here are the new prices of sugar.
In this regard, TCB spokesperson Humayun Kabir told Jago News that the price of sugar has been increased to adjust the price in the market. Earlier, TCB sold sugar at a relatively low price. The last time sugar was supplied to the dealers two-three months ago, the price was falling. Now the price of sugar in the market has increased a lot.

TCB will sell dates at Tk 150, rice at Tk 30 during fasting
A consumer with a family card can buy a maximum of two liters of soybean oil, two kg of lentils, one kg of sugar and one kg of dates. In this case, the price of soybean oil will be kept at Tk 100 per kg, sugar at Tk 100 and lentils at Tk 60 per kg, dates at Tk 150 and rice at Tk 30 per kg.
According to TCB, the distributors will conduct this activity according to the scheduled date and time in cooperation with the city corporation, district and upazila administration. During this time, family card holders can buy products from the distributors’ shops or designated places in their respective areas.
It is known that the second phase of the sales program will be inaugurated by State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam (Titu) on the occasion of Ramadan. The inauguration ceremony will be held on Thursday morning at 9:30 am at the polytechnic ground adjacent to East Colony Market, Tibet Mor, Ward No. 24 of North City Corporation.
