Tamar Golan Gallery opens 2nd edition of “LiterArte” with collective exhibition

Six Angolan artists will open the second edition of “LiterArte”, on the 28th of this month, at 6 pm, in the cultural space of Galeria Tamar Golan, a collective exhibition that will run until the 25th of February.

The artists Luzia Dala Gaspar “Luzea”, Débora Sónia João de Deus “Kassova”, Sureny Patrícia Ferreira Luís Fernandes, Davi Dombele, Josué Dombele, Araão Álvaro Iéca “Yéca”, will show their talents with incils and canvases with the aim of telling stories to the public present.

According to the statement that Notícias de Angola had access to today, this is the second edition of “LiterArte”, which can be visited from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, in the contemporary art gallery of the Fundação Arte e Cultura , on the Island of Luanda.

The collective exhibition opens at Galeria Tamar Golan in 2022, being the first of 12 that will be opened – collective and individual – during the year, according to the Gallery’s schedule.

The sample results from the poem by writer Viriato da Cruz, “Namoro”. The artists used the poem to produce the exhibition.

The Artists

Araão Álvaro Iéca, artistic pseudonym Yéca, was born on July 20, 1998, in the province of Cabinda. He is an emerging self-taught visual artist and professor of drawing and painting at Atelier Palomino Artes. His compositions are the result of the symbiosis of his technique and audacity, varying in different media and techniques.

Davi Dombele was born in Sambizanga, Luanda. He gained a taste for the arts from a very early age. At the age of 7 he was already making comics stories and hasn’t stopped there since. But it was in 2016 that he decided to take his gift seriously and launch himself professionally into the field of fine arts (painting).

Josué Dombele was born in July 1999, in the lands of Sambizanga, Luanda. He is a visual artist, artist and painter. He started painting in 2017 under the influence of some video lessons on YouTube. He studied artistic pedagogy at CEART, an art school complex in 2019. As a painter, he has participated in several group exhibitions in Luanda, some with Davi Dombele and others with the renowned Guilherme Mampuya.

Luzia Dala Gaspar “Luzea”, was born in July 2000, in Luanda. Since she was little, she has always been passionate about art, focused and determined. She started doodling when she was 6 years old at initiation, attracting the attention of her classmates and teachers. Lú, as she is affectionately called, is passionate about art. In 2010 she painted a work on a canvas with the title “Woman Nature”. Then she stopped.

Débora Sónia João de Deus

With the artistic name Kassova (Kassoart), the member of the LiterArte exhibition is from Huambo, but has lived in Luanda since 1999. She has always had a peaceful life, a talented family, including guitarists, singers, visual artists and designers, and her father and brothers. Among hers, Kassova is the one who stands out the most in the visual arts.

Sureny Patrícia Ferreira Luís Fernandes

He started drawing from a young age. At the age of 12, he was already standing out in some competitions and small exhibitions. In 2009 she started attending the Celamar gallery and studio. She was born in February 1991 and is from Luanda.

The Tamar Golan Gallery, from Fundação Arte e Cultura, is an innovative and alternative, non-profit cultural project that aims to promote Angolan visual arts and support young emerging talents in the visual arts.
