ÉKM is serious about reforming the domestic transport system and culture. Although the rethinking of category B licenses is still pending, the new concept has already been developed for high-class irons.

With yet another simplification, this time by speeding up the acquisition of large-category driving licenses, the Ministry of Construction and Transportation is helping the development of the domestic transport and carrier industry and reducing the labor shortage experienced in the sector.

It will be easier to obtain the CE category.

It will become faster to obtain a driver’s license enabling you to drive motor vehicles (category C) with a weight exceeding the permissible total weight of 3,500 kilograms (category C) and vehicle assemblies consisting of heavy trailers that can be connected to them (category CE).

The decree of the Minister of Construction and Transport published a few days ago – of 15/2024. (VI. 12.) EKM decree, 24/2005 on the detailed rules for the training and examination of road drivers and road traffic specialists. (IV. 21.) on amending the GKM decree – creates the opportunity to obtain a combined “C” and “CE” categories with a valid category “B” driver’s license at the same time, if the examinee start his leadership qualification has already ceased. In the past, the existence of the C category was a prerequisite for the CE category driver’s license.

The Ministry of Construction and Transport also accelerated the acquisition of category D driver’s licenses, which entitles you to drive buses, and made it possible to start the category D course with a category B license.

Accelerating the acquisition of high-class driving licenses helps the development of the passenger and freight transport sector and can significantly contribute to reducing the labor shortage experienced in the sector.

The Ministry of Transport, in constant consultation with the actors of the sector, has already helped domestic companies working in the field of road freight and passenger transport with several similar measures in recent years. Among these, it can be highlighted that drivers can replace the computerized test during further training as a condition for the issuance of the Driver’s License (GKI). The GKI refresher training without an exam is a relief for drivers, it reduces the administrative and bureaucratic burdens of companies in the sector, and speeds up the process of further training. – ÉKM closes its press release.

If we add to this the government steps to encourage the acquisition of the first driver’s license, the direction seems quite good.
