Taboada calls on Brugada to “behave” and accept the results

MEXICO CITY (apro).- On the last day of campaigns, the candidate for the Government leadership of the “Va por la CDMX” alliance, Santiago Taboada, assured that the ruling party wants to organize “a campaign of fear” to prevent the people go out to vote, and he called on his Morena-PT-PVEM opponent, Clara Brugada, to “behave” and accept the results of the next election day, June 2.

This Wednesday, after he went to sign a list of commitments with the “50+1” group, the PAN member accused that the opposition has denounced the purchase of votes by Morena before the Electoral Institute of Mexico City, and that the president, Patricia Avendaño, “is not doing the same.”

And he addressed Brugada: “To make a commitment, both of us, Clara and I, I call on her that if she, her party and the head of Government (Martí Batres) behave, that we accept the results, to see if she agrees.” to the challenge”.

He also highlighted that the issue of violence in campaigns has become complicated: “This week we have also had some reports, we are preparing the entire legal part, what we want is for people to go out and vote, they want to start a campaign of fear so that In some areas people don’t go out to vote.

Then, he shared that his team works to report incidents on election day, and added:

“Tell the Government that it has one last chance to do things right, so that they can really show if they are up to the task.”

The candidate said that he hopes that Martí Batres rises to the occasion, since he said that he was given a vote of confidence when he was appointed head of Government.

He stated that his team is ready for any scenario: “This is like football, if they want we put our leg on one side.”

When asked about an assessment of his campaign, he declared: “I am very happy, as I told you, it is probably one of the last campaigns I will have in my life.”

*50+1″ COMMITMENTS

Before giving the previous statements, the standard bearer of the PAN, PRI and PRD signed a list of commitments for the equality of boys, girls and women in Mexico City.

There were 15 commitments he assumed:

  1. Promote gender equality as a fundamental principle, recognizing the right of girls, boys and women to live free of violence and discrimination.
  2. Promote equal opportunities for women in all areas.
  3. Guarantee women’s equitable access to basic resources and services.
  4. Incorporate the gender perspective in the design of public policies.
  5. Guarantee sufficient budgets for the timely detection and care of autoimmune diseases.
  6. Promote the Local Care System to guarantee the rights of all.
  7. Strengthen female entrepreneurship with tax distribution and justice with a gender perspective.
  8. Reduce the wage gap between men and women.
  9. Establish legal, judicial and administrative mechanisms to achieve a life free of human trafficking and exploitation.
  10. Establish public policies to prevent, punish and eradicate all forms and modalities of violence against women.
  11. Provide access to prompt and expeditious justice so as not to re-victimize women, girls and boys.
  12. Establish the necessary gender alerts and strengthen the Local Search Commission for missing girls, boys and women.
  13. Promote the active participation of men and boys in the prevention of gender violence.
  14. Commit to building a society free of violence in all its forms.
  15. Recognize and respect the dignity of all people, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion or any characteristic.
