Syrian-Russian press conference on the terrorist attack on the Military College

The Director of the Political Department in the Syrian Arab Army, Major General Hassan Suleiman, confirmed that the Syrian Arab Army, in coordination with the friendly Russian forces operating in Syria, launched a series of qualitative operations and concentrated strikes targeting the criminal terrorist organizations that committed the terrorist attack on the Military College in Homs on the fifth of last month.

In a joint Syrian-Russian press conference to shed light on the terrorist attack that targeted the Military College in Homs, Major General Suleiman announced that the joint Syrian-Russian operations led to the destruction of all targeted sites and headquarters, including ammunition and equipment depots, and the elimination of hundreds of terrorists affiliated with the so-called “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” and the “Turkistan Islamic Party” and other terrorist organizations.

Major General Suleiman explained that the joint Syrian-Russian operations also resulted in paralyzing the combat and organizational capabilities of the terrorists, preventing them from regrouping and creating a state of chaos and panic among them, and they began to seek help from their masters and operators following the heavy losses they suffered.

In turn, the head of the Russian Coordination Center in Damascus and the Central Region, Major General Vadim Kulet, stated that the appropriate response was implemented, in cooperation with the Syrian army, by targeting observation points and terrorist headquarters with aircraft and artillery, and striking 23 observation points, training camps, 35 tunnels and underground shelters.

Major General Collett stated that more than 230 air strikes were carried out by Russian aircraft and more than 900 fire missions were carried out by Russian and Syrian artillery on terrorist organizations’ sites, during which 200 terrorists were eliminated, including 34 leaders and 15 experts of foreign nationalities, 450 others were injured, and 1,125 targets were destroyed.
