Syria condemns the two terrorist attacks in Kerman and affirms its solidarity with Iran in confronting terrorism and conspiracies

Syria condemned in the strongest terms the two treacherous terrorist attacks that targeted innocent civilians yesterday near the shrine of martyr Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in the city of Kerman, southern Iran, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of innocent citizens, stressing its solidarity with Iran in confronting terrorism and the conspiracies it is exposed to.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement today: The Syrian Arab Republic expresses its deep sorrow, sincere condolences and sympathy to the Islamic Republic of Iran, its leadership, government and people, and to the bereaved families, and its wishes for a speedy recovery for the wounded and injured, and stresses the inevitability of the failure of terrorists and their supporters in achieving their hateful goals and the necessity of holding them accountable wherever they are.

The Ministry stressed Syria’s full solidarity with Iran in confronting the terrorist attacks and shameful conspiracies it is exposed to, and its confidence in its ability to overcome this painful ordeal. It also affirms that this sinful terrorist attack will not undermine Iran’s determination and insistence on fighting terrorism, standing by just causes, and supporting the just rights of oppressed peoples.

The Foreign Ministry indicated that Syria considers the escalation of the resort of known hostile parties to attacks and terrorist acts in the region as clear evidence of the defeat and failure of their destructive projects, and warns that these terrorist acts will negatively affect the security and stability of the countries of the region, and represent a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.
