SYL Sentenced to 10 Years, Indira Chunda Thita: God Willing We Accept It

JAKARTA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined Syahrul Yasin Limpo’s son (SYL) , Indira Chunda Thita related to his father’s alleged money laundering case. After being questioned, he stated that he accepted his father’s 10-year sentence in the extortion and gratification case within the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

“God willing, we accept your verdict because we understand and know that this is the result of the decision of Your Honor,” said Titha when leaving the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (16/7/2024).

On that occasion, Titha also apologized to the Indonesian people for the case that implicated her father.

“We apologize to all Indonesian people, please forgive us physically and mentally,” he said.

Previously, the Panel of Judges at the Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor) sentenced former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo to 10 years in prison. SYL was also sentenced to a fine of Rp300 million or four months in prison.

In addition, SYL is required to pay compensation of Rp14,147,144,786 and USD30,000 with the provision that if it is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for two years.
