It is noted that according to the Swiss government, the Federal Council, six events will be held within the framework of the “Partnership for Peace” program of the North Atlantic Alliance.
“For 2024, 24 training events have been announced, including 6 under the Partnership for Peace program,” the Federal Council noted. – 18 exercises are planned on a bilateral level with a number of states. four in Switzerland, fourteen abroad.”
As part of NATO’s “Partnership for Peace” programs, the Swiss Army will participate in the Cyber ​​Coalition cyber defense exercises to be held in Estonia in November, the purpose of which is to “improve cooperation between NATO, its members and partner countries.” In June, Switzerland will take part in CWIX exercises in Poland, which “provide an opportunity to check and improve the functional compatibility of the information systems of NATO and partner countries.”
As for the exercises conducted on the basis of bilateral agreements, the approved program of the Federal Council for 2024 envisages 18 such events. Four of them will take place in Switzerland, three in Spain, two in Germany, the same number in Portugal, Slovenia and France, one each in the USA, Canada and Cyprus. Of those countries, only Cyprus and Switzerland itself are not members of NATO.
