A number of lawyers who are members of the ‘Fact Finding Team’ group visited the National Police Headquarters to report their findings regarding the alleged obstruction of the investigation.
“Today we are reporting obstruction of justice articles, false statements and allegations of dual identity,” said lawyer Pitra Romadoni at the Police Criminal Investigation Unit, South Jakarta, Saturday (22/6/2024).
Pitra admitted that he had obtained evidence regarding the OOJ allegation. One of them is about the alleged obstruction that allegedly occurred during the examination of witness T.
For information, the witness with the initials T was approached by the family of convict E not to give a statement according to what he knew.
“So we see here the suspicion that OOJ is obstructing the investigation. So, this is biased and a blunder due to actions taken by the family of the convict and the lawyer,” he said.
“Today we asked for an investigation by the police and I also conveyed to the Director (Dirreskrimum Polda Jabar Kombes Surawan) that this OOJ must be resolved, so that this does not become a problem in society,” he said.
However, Pitra was reluctant to provide details when asked about who brought in the witnesses, and when the alleged bribery took place. He then handed it over to Bareskrim Polri Headquarters to convey this to the public, as the competent authority.
