A search operation carried out in the A Baja pavilion of the Social Rehabilitation Center (Cereso) of Encarnación allowed the removal of a series of elements considered high risk for the internal security of the prison.
The intervention was carried out at dawn on Wednesday and was carried out by teams from the Ministry of Justice, supported by the National Police, members of the GEO tactical group, motorcyclists from the Lince Group and Anti-Narcotics agents from Itapúa.
During the procedure, the intervening forces located 27.7 grams of a substance that would be marijuana, divided into 27 doses ready for distribution. 37 homemade knives were also found, in addition to 12 cell phones and 14 chargers used irregularly inside the establishment.
The agents also seized a small precision scale, packages of yeast, several buckets and bottles with fermented chicha-type drink, as well as two pressure cookers that were used to prepare the artisanal substance.
All elements were raised for corresponding analysis. The prosecutor on duty ordered that the alleged drugs be removed by specialized technical personnel, while the seized phones were referred to the General Directorate of Penitentiary Establishments to open an administrative investigation.
