The harvest of Superiol, the early grape variety of 2024, has started in the Sarıgöl district of Manisa. While Superiol grapes are sold in the vineyard for 35-50 TL, it was learned that the Trakya İlkeren grapes are sold for 35 TL.
Harvest season has begun for early grape varieties Superiol and Trakya İlkeren in Sarıgöl, one of the most intensive grape activities in Manisa. It was learned that the first harvest was made in the 4-acre Superiol vineyard of a producer named Mustafa Çalık, and that Superiol grapes were sold for 35-50 TL and Trakya İlkeren grapes for 35 TL.
The early grape variety Superiol grapes, which are cut in the early hours of the morning, are sent to large cities to be sold in the domestic market. Mustafa Çalık, a producer who sold the first early grape of the season in Sarıgöl, said, “This year, the grape harvest started early. I was lucky enough to be the first harvest in the district. As far as we learned, we also received information that the harvest has started in the Buldan district of Denizli. I wish the season to be beneficial to all grape producers.”
“Buy fresh grapes for cash”
Sarıgöl Chamber of Agriculture President Ali İhsan Ülgen, who stated that 9 different types of grapes, primarily Çekirdeksiz Sultaniye, are grown in the district, emphasized that in these days when the harvest has started, fresh grapes should definitely be sold for cash in order to prevent the fraudulent incidents that caused many producers to be victimized in previous years from happening again. Ülgen said the following: “The harvesting of Superiol and Trakya İlkeren grapes, which are grown as early grape types in Sarıgöl, has started. May it be auspicious for our grape producers. We have a call that we make every year, and it is worth repeating it again. Definitely sell your fresh grapes for cash. Many of our producers are victimized every year. On the other hand, covering operations continue in the Çekirdeksiz Sultaniye vineyards. The harvest of Çekirdeksiz Sultaniye grapes will start on August 15 and continue until the end of December. Grapes are grown on an area of 120 thousand decares in our district. Thanks to the plain and highland viticulture in Sarıgöl, nine types of table grapes, primarily Çekirdeksiz Sultaniye grapes, are grown.” – MANİSA
