Summer brings comedy to theaters

With the start of the summer season, the spirit has returned to Moroccan theaters, after the increasing demand for comedy shows that constitute an entertainment outlet for the audience and express Moroccan culture and identity through various artistic styles that Moroccan comedy makers have excelled in producing.

A group of Moroccan comedy groups and artists have scheduled new dates for shows in Moroccan halls in various cities of the Kingdom, due to the high demand for the latter, whose tickets are sold out on digital platforms as soon as they are put up for sale.

Among the artists who are making their presence felt in Moroccan halls this season is the comedian “Echo,” who is presenting a national tour with his comedy show “Love.” This is a work in which the Marrakech native discusses the topics of love in general and how some groups of people experience it. It also carries a set of meaningful messages about this context, and talks about love in all its forms, interspersed with other topics in order to create entertainment and enjoyment.

The comedy group “Emoragi”, headed by the artist Talis since 2015, is presenting a new tour of its shows in Moroccan halls and theaters, where audiences will enjoy the new show “Emoragi Tanazah” with the participation of Idris and Mahdi, Saeed and Wadih, Fadwa Taleb, Ayoub Idri, Rachid Rafiq and others.

For his part, and after the great success he achieved with his solo show last summer, the Moroccan comedian Yassar Lamghari returns in a new family comedy work that brings him together with the actress Dounia Boutazout and Rachid Rafiq on stage, entitled “123 Laughter.” Its topics are inspired by the heart of Moroccan society and carry within them many messages that delve into the social aspect in a smooth and comical way.

Moroccan comedian Hassan El Fad is also back in Moroccan theaters and halls with his famous comedy “Who is Kabour?”, after the great success he achieved in previous tours inside and outside Morocco, through which he was able to top the box office.

The Moroccan comedian will be accompanied on stage by Moroccan actress Mounia Lamkimel, in addition to actors Haitham Miftah and Osama Ramzi, the stars of his TV series, whom he has been keen to include in his works for years after the success they achieved together.

It is worth noting that Moroccan theatre is distinguished by its cultural and linguistic diversity, which is reflected in the comedy shows that use dialects and popular traditions as the basis for their jokes and funny stories. Moroccan comedians rely on smart humor and smooth narration to highlight social and cultural issues in a way that attracts and provokes laughter and contemplation, especially with the arrival of the summer season; the latter witnesses an increase in the number of tourists looking for enjoyable entertainment experiences.
